Lions are sloppy again, the defense stinks and that falls on Matt Patricia and the coaching staff after 35-27 loss to Cowboys, Nov. 17, 2019.

The sad state of major professional sports in Detroit is well documented in this space.

We’re just going to keep piling on.

On Sunday night, a few hours after the Detroit Lions lost for the fifth time in six games, Max Goldstein — who tweets out sports statistics at @MaxSportsStudio — offered up this gem of a stat: Of the 12 states in America with at least one MLB, NHL, NHL and NBA team, Michigan’s the only one without a single team above .500 in win percentage.

To make matters worse, none of our four teams are even close to .500. The Lions are 3-6-1. The Detroit Pistons are 4-9. The Detroit Red Wings are 7-12-3. The Detroit Tigers just went 47-114, one of the worst regular seasons in baseball history.

Any guesses on who wins a championship next? And how old we’ll all be when if it happens?
