Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame to induct three in Class of 2020


LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – The Mohawk Valley Baseball Hall of Fame has announced three new members will be inducted as part of the class of 2020 in March.

Tony Abone Sr., Donald Albin and Kevin Green will all be enshrined at the Induction Ceremony and Dinner on Saturday, March 21.

Abone Sr. rose through the coaching ranks in Rome, beginning in the Rome American Little League then moving to Rome Federal Little League and finally the Rome Farm League before becoming the long-time coach of Smith Post 24 in the American Legion Baseball League.

In 38-years at the helm of Smith Post, he compiled a 730-291-4 record, two NYS titles (1978, 1998), five state finalist appearances and multiple Oneida County and District V titles. He is also a 2006 inductee of the Rome Sports Hall of Fame.
