Texas baseball honors Longhorn Legend Andre Robertson

In celebration of February’s Black History Month, the Texas baseball team welcomed a historical figure in the Longhorns’ program history.

Former Texas baseball player Andre Robertson changed the course of the game when he made his way to the Forty Acres in 1976 being the first African-American to ever earn a baseball scholarship at the University of Texas.

Robertson made his way to UFCU Disch Falk Field Saturday afternoon as the Longhorns prepared to face Boise State in the second game of the weekend series, and joined his alma mater prior to the start of the game, as seen in the below video.

“It’s great any time I come back,” Robertson told Horns247. “I got to fool around and know those guys in the broadcast booth, as well as the guys in the clubhouse.”

And Robertson also got to witness the Longhorns’ seventh-straight win on the season.
